All are interesting, all are IWC Pilots Double Chronograph rare, and all are expensive, but all are relatively well-known in these parts of the world and to us, that's just not good enough. That is why we are proud to present another limited edition AP Royal Oak Offshore, this time in honor of a shopping district even further east than Montauk. How far east? About 9,368 miles. We are talking about the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Bukit Bintang edition. For those who aren't familiar with Bukit Bintang, it is a shopping and entertainment district located in Kuala Lumpur. This epicenter of Malaysian commerce is known for hawker-style eateries and a host of shopping malls and hotels. Yes it is the Times Square of Malaysia, but we mean that in the best way possible. This particular IWC Pilots Double Chronograph was produced only in 100 individual pieces. It features a black textured face with bright yellow markers and hands. It comes with both a yellow strap with black stitching as well as a black strap with yellow stitching. The particular example we have found for you today is brand new in box, and for sale from a reputable dealer actually in Kuala Lumpur itself.
You have probably seen a lot of news recently about Audemars Piguet's new Royal Oak Offshore dedicated to that ever annoying piece of two lane road due east of here, the Montauk highway (rt. 27). Our friend Robert-Jan covered it, as did the good folks at Professional Watches. It is an interesting watch certainly, but 300 seems like a lot for a limited edition from AP, and really, who wants to be reminded of the time it took you 45 minutes to drive the 4.8 miles between Southampton and Watermill?AP has a thing for producing limited edition IWC Pilots Double Chronograph atches for various points of interest. It could be a highway (like the Montauk mentioned above), a boutique (like the one we featured here, or the Wempe AP here), or even a shopping district (like the Palm Beach Worth Avenue Edition).
